Licensed Independent Social Worker Clinical Practice

I am passionate about working with children, adolescents, and families. My goal is to help identify the root of the problem that brings my clients to therapy, so they can resolve troubling symptoms while working toward healing and strength. I use an eclectic variety of evidence-based therapies to help my clients develop coping skills and inner peace.

For more than ten years, I have worked with children and adolescents in various settings, such as the foster care system, the Department of Juvenile Justice, and in schools. My childhood as an “Army brat” ingrained the necessary skills to meet my clients where they are while delivering understanding and compassion for their unique experiences. I am a candid, sincere, and diligent therapist who collaborates with my clients to find the best approach for them to be successful in achieving their therapeutic goals.

I earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Human Services from Upper Iowa University at Fort Riley, Kansas, and a Master of Social Work, with a certificate in Victim and Survivor Services, from Washburn University. I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker Clinical Practice (LISW-CP).

My additional training and experience include:

  • Trauma-Focused Cognitive-behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
  • Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR)
  • Motivational Interviewing
  • National Adoption Competency Mental Health Training Initiative
  • Alternatives for Families: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
  • Depression, Anxiety, Trauma-stress related disorders
  • Stressors related to Military Lifestyle
  • Attention-deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder
  • Oppositional Defiance Disorder
  • Disruptive behaviors
  • Family relationships, communication, and trust
